Time Stops.

Wait. Delay. Interval.  Pause. Break. Interlude. Patience. Perseverance. Endurance.
It’s strange really, how all of us live with so much hope. How we wait for something to happen, for something to arrive and add some drama to our lives, something which makes us feel alive, something which separates us from the rest. We all wait. Imagine sitting on a railway station, trains coming and passing by. Strangers hustling by to make end someone else’s wait. You stay there, waiting, for your train. The train which will take you someplace nice, someplace you want to be. Engines pulling those blue coaches go past you. They are all the same really… Every train is the same, of the same breed, of the same color, of the same make yet not every train is the one you want. So you wait, hoping that the train will arrive and make you happy.
At this point, another person sits beside you, in due course of time you realize that he is waiting for the same train. Even he wants to go to someplace nice and who are you to deny him? The feeling is mutual, two people waiting for the same train in the expectation for something that adds meaning to their lives. It’s intense and beautiful. Now you’re not alone, you have company and now, you both wait. This is where it all really begins. The train arrives.
You look at each other, slowly get up, not wanting the other one to know of your real intention and walk calmly yet briskly towards the train. The train is there, now waiting. There are hundreds of people around but at this point it seems that it’s just you two. You put your foot on the foot-board, so does he… And everything around comes to a standstill, everyone seems to be inaudible, everything else seems to be insignificant, all that matters is that you want to get on the train and get to your destination. Both wait, for the other to make a move. Nobody does. The train has waited enough; it blows off the steam and barges forward. You don’t want the train to go but it has to, it’s his duty and so you step down and let him go. You walk down to the very same bench and this time there is someone else already there, so you sit beside him, with a little smirk on your face. You’re in for another long wait now but this time, you’re prepared. The other man gets his train, but to get to his destination, he waits.
Coming back to my point… Everyone waited. You did, the train did and so did he. It is inevitable, a part of life and we learn as we wait and hope for a good thing to take place. They say time never stops, believe me, it does. When you’re waiting… Time stops.
